Job Summary
The College of Innovation and Technology (CIT) is seeking 2 dependable and detail-oriented students to join the CIT Student Services team. This position combines front desk administrative support with testing proctor responsibilities to support the daily operations of the CIT Student Services Center. The student employees serve as professional representatives of the college while assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors, maintaining confidential information, supporting departmental initiatives, and ensuring the integrity of the testing environment. Responsibilities*
Student Services Administrative Support
- Welcome and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors in the CIT Student Services Center.
- Provide front desk coverage by answering questions, directing visitors, and responding to emails.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry. Assist with administrative projects.
- Support the planning and implementation of CIT student events and activities.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records.
- Handle FERPA-protected and other confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the CIT Student Services team.
CIT Proctoring Center Operations
- Assist with proctor scheduling.
- Aid in the collection and return of paper tests to the designated test drop off/pick up area.
- Verify student identity before examinations begin.
- Prepare testing spaces by organizing examination materials and ensuring the testing environment is ready prior to each exam.
- Administer and monitor examinations in accordance with CIT testing policies and procedures.
- Provide students with testing instructions and answer procedural questions.
- Maintain a quiet, secure, and distraction-free testing environment.
- Monitor exam timing and ensure adherence to approved testing schedules.
- Assist with approved testing accommodations as directed.
- Document and report testing irregularities or suspected academic misconduct.
- Collect, organize, and secure completed examination materials while maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications*
- Current student at the University of Michigan-Flint and in good academic standing (2.0 or higher).
- Available to work 15-20 hours per week during regular business hours for the duration of employment.
- High level of integrity Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
