Job Summary

The Department of Recreational Services is seeking a Facility Student Coordinator to provide support in the Recreation Center for the fall and winter semesters. Staff will be responsible for assisting with facility management and upkeep. Shifts may be early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends depending on availability.

Responsibilities*

  • Monitoring Rec Center spaces to identify work orders to be placed or housekeeping needs
  • Keeping inventory of Rec Center equipment and ensuring it is ready for use
  • Equipment cleaning including:
    • Equipment frames
    • Fitness Studio equipment
    • Laundry needs
  • Ensuring AED equipment is functional and first aid kits are stocked
  • Understand facility and work station policies and procedures
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary

Required Qualifications*

  • Current UM-Flint student
  • Availabile to work up to 10 hours per week
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
  • Ability to obtain CPR/AED First Aid certification
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently

Desired Qualifications*

  • Familiarity with sports, cardio and/or weight equipment
  • Work study award for current or upcoming academic semester

Modes of Work

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan

Background Screening
