Job Summary
The Flint Social Work Department is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to the department faculty, department director, program directors, practicum team, and students in Social Work programs.
This position reports directly to the Social Work Office Manager.
Responsibilities*
Student Services Support
Provide administrative assistance for student organizations, scholarships, and student travel activities.
Accreditation Support
- Assist with organizing, collecting, and formatting documents for accreditation and support logistics for site visits.
Practicum Support
- Coordinate practicum site agreements, maintain records, support practicum staff and students, organize workshops and communications, and ensure compliance with university and accreditor requirements.
Program Advising, Curriculum, and Admissions Support
- Assist with program course plans, scheduling, enrollment projections, admissions, and provide regular communication and support to current and prospective students.
Department Administrative Support
- Manage department communications
- Organize and coordinate departmental, college, and university events
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide assistance to students, faculty, and visitors
- Support recruitment and orientation efforts, which may include occasional evening or weekend work
- Maintain and update the Department Intranet, assist with marketing and outreach to prospective students
- Ensure exceptional customer service for current and prospective students and their families
- Oversee scheduling and logistics for departmental events and serve as backup to other staff as needed
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma
- Four (4) years of administrative support experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite products
- Customer service experience

Administrative Assistant Intermediate salary range is $34,300 - $42,900

Modes of Work
Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.

Background Screening
