Job Summary

Student will be responsible for supporting critical operations of the various priorities within the CIT machine shop and associated equipment and spaces.

Responsibilities*

  • Preparation of lab specimens and advanced testing methods
  • Work with students in lab/shop
  • Assist with student projects
  • Set up and run lab equipment
  • Circuit design
  • Maintaining machine shop equipment
  • Oversee safety compliance

Required Qualifications*

UM-Flint undergraduate student in good academic standing with the following:

  • Experience with Solidworks CAD
  • 3D printing experience
  • Basic Machine shop skills
  • Fabrication
  • Manufacturing process experience

Desired Qualifications*

  • Junior standing, GPA above 3.0
  • Machine experience
  • Welding experience
  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Woodshop experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Team player

Modes of Work

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan

Background Screening
