LABORATORY & SHOP TECHNICIAN (Student/Work Study)

Job Summary
Student will be responsible for supporting critical operations of the various priorities within the CIT machine shop and associated equipment and spaces.
Responsibilities*
- Preparation of lab specimens and advanced testing methods
- Work with students in lab/shop
- Assist with student projects
- Set up and run lab equipment
- Circuit design
- Maintaining machine shop equipment
- Oversee safety compliance
Required Qualifications*
UM-Flint undergraduate student in good academic standing with the following:
- Experience with Solidworks CAD
- 3D printing experience
- Basic Machine shop skills
- Fabrication
- Manufacturing process experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Junior standing, GPA above 3.0
- Machine experience
- Welding experience
- CAD/CAM experience
- Woodshop experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Team player
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
