Summary
The Logistics Specialist will perform a variety of tasks which includes tracking, maintenance, repair, moving, and setting up of equipment for clients/ events as needed; effectively supporting a smooth efficient transition of operations.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Work with team to log and track all active and inactive camera or light trailers in the field
- Work alongside integration team/company setting up and servicing of active and inactive camera or light trailers, and fixed camera systems
- Use common hand tools to repair or service the equipment as needed
- Complete small engine repair or maintenance or any other work necessary for functioning operations
- Use heavy machinery and equipment including forklift, fork truck, machine lifts, or hoists as needed
- Load, transport, and unload equipment, trailers, guard shacks, golf carts, and off-road equipment as needed
- Have routine maintenance done on the company diesel truck including oil changes, tire rotations and vehicle inspections
- Transport, assemble and disassemble Garrett Metal Detectors
- Use small trailers, large-enclosed trailers, vehicle hauling trailers and goose neck flatbed trailers as needed
- Assist logging and tracking of logistics tools / equipment and maintaining them to keep them in good working order
- Complete a monthly weeklong on call rotation (7 days - 24/7 per month) responding to chat and any field issues
- Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of company policy, procedure, and operational requirements
- Provide excellent customer service
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must
- Knowledge and experience of basic mechanics of vehicles and small engines including electric systems (i.e. batteries, trailer wiring)
- Knowledge and experience to operate technology including camera systems and camera-trailer system functions and related software
- Judgement and high level of integrity
- High initiative and reliable
- Ability to work in a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, or walk for 100% of the shift as needed
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders
- Must have excellent visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech.
- Must be able to lift upwards of 50-75 pounds, as needed
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Full-Time, Hourly, Non Exempt
- Work assignments may vary in days of the week and time of day to relate to the 24/7 security operations of the company; Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Indoor or Outdoor work environment – may vary
- Warehouse – Flint Location is main base
- Week on call rotation – 7 days 24/7 per month; must respond timely to chat and in field
- Extensive in state and out of state travel will be required - Vehicle provided for work travel
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior logistics experience preferred
- Mechanical experience
- Technology experience
- Must have valid state Driver’s License
