We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager to join our Enterprise Identity team, focused on Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) for our Commercial and Institutional Banking (C&IB) segments. This strategic role is critical to driving the modernization of our identity and authentication ecosystem, partnering closely with business line stakeholders to align digital identity strategy with C&IB goals.

In this role you will be part of the PNC’s Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Team, which sits within PNC's Enterprise Technology & Security organization and is part of the PNC Enterprise Identity function.
The ideal candidate will bring banking or financial services experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to deliver complex identity solutions. You will serve as the CIAM product owner for C&IB, leading migration efforts to our new identity platform, defining KPIs/KRIs/OKRs, and managing a team of digital professionals to ensure secure, seamless, and scalable identity services.

The CIAM team is focused on creating enterprise Authentication and Identity Management capabilities that provide best in class authentication journeys for customers of PNC and the PNC’s Commercial and Institutional Banking Customers. The team is responsible for providing innovative products and capabilities in the areas of strong authentication, identity proofing, identity risk and decision management, single sign on, and federation to name a few. The team interacts and partners with line of business stakeholders, security partners and other functions to plan and coordinate capabilities and roadmaps.

The Role
The Product Manager is the Identity and Authentication SME and works closely with the Lines of Business to ensure alignment with vision, mission, and strategy. Our teams do operate under in a SAFE Agile environment, so familiarity with Scaled Agile Frameworks, ceremonies, responsibilities are a must.

Product Management is the function responsible for defining desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable solutions that meet customer needs and supporting development across the product life cycle. Product Management works closely with the System Architect, Release Train Engineer, and Business Owners as leaders of the Agile Release Train (ART). Product Managers play a crucial role in aligning product strategy, vision, and roadmaps with customer needs and business objectives, fostering innovation and ensuring the delivery of valuable features. They manage and prioritize the ART backlog, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and leverage the continuous delivery pipeline to release value in response to market needs.

Product Management is responsible for leading product strategy, vision, and road mapping across the ART.
Product Managers bridge the gap between customer desires, market trends, and organizational capabilities.

Responsibilities Include:

Product Leadership:
Own the CIAM product strategy and roadmap for Commercial & Institutional Banking; align platform capabilities to B2B user needs and regulatory expectations.
• Stakeholder Alignment:
Serve as the primary liaison to C&IB line of business leaders; drive collaboration to align identity solutions with business goals and customer journeys.
• Identity Platform Modernization:
Lead planning, migration, and integration efforts to onboard C&IB applications to our modernized identity platform.
• Metrics & Measurement:
Define and manage Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) for C&IB identity programs; establish data reporting and insights capabilities to measure and inform decisions.
• Team Leadership:
Lead a cross-functional team of digital identity professionals including engineers, analysts, and project leads; foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Governance & Compliance:
Ensure CIAM solutions meet internal security policies, external regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC, NIST), and support ongoing audit-readiness.
• Communication & Change Management:
Develop and deliver clear communications and presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders; support change management efforts across business and technology teams.

- Drive automation and self-service enablement functions to simplify the onboarding and increase usage of the platform.
- Partner with technology development and solution design architecture SMEs to assess our current capabilities, business architecture and go-forward strategic architecture for commercial user authentication.
- - Identifying business outcomes and OKR’s for user authentication; the capability priorities that support them; secure funding, manage the backlog and build the reporting and analytics to measure success
- Work collaboratively across businesses / functional areas to define, sequence, and execute the enterprise roadmap for new identity management features and vendor relationships.
- Support the development of strategy and initiatives involving federated, centralized and decentralized authentication opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience:

o 7+ years in product management, digital identity, or cybersecurity roles
o Prior experience in banking, financial services, or B2B digital platforms is required
o Proven experience leading identity migrations or enterprise-scale platform transitions

Skills:
o Strong understanding of CIAM, identity federation, MFA, authentication protocols (OIDC, SAML), and risk-based authentication
o Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
o Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor cross-functional teams
o Analytical mindset with experience defining and operationalizing performance metrics

Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Additional Qualifications/Desirable:
- Experience supporting migration for identity providers, PING, Transmit specifically.
- Familiar with FIDO Standards and Capabilities.
- Strong product management, design, and development skills
- Ability to lead and develop a team of digital professionals, excellent management, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong change management skills focus on leading transformational change with history as a highly influential and collaborative leader.
- Excellent strategic communication skills and strong executive presence that creates alignment
- Experience developing multi-year, enterprise strategy for identity management and fraud / risk management capabilities; manage associated socialization, collaboration, and influence in setting broad strategic direction across all channels and LOBs

  • Responsible for the end-to-end business and financial results for multiple product sets utilizing traditional and emerging capabilities in technology, operations, and data analytics to offer customers a differentiated product experience through the leadership of teams managing new and existing products or experiences.
  • Uses knowledge of emerging technologies to deliver product to customers through all applicable channels. Presents initiatives to gain senior management buy-in. Manages progress to ensure initiatives are completed on time, within budget and meet strategic goals.
  • Influences product and customer experience trends by monitoring competitors or peer organizations to stay abreact of emerging product and technology trends in the industry. Leads teams responsible for translating concepts or designs into new or improved products, product lines or experiences and recognizes, anticipates and resolves complex operational and process problems that arise.
  • Evaluates potential product or experience development projects for feasibility and value. Ensures successful outcomes from key stakeholders including sales, marketing, digital channel delivery and other internal service partners. Participates in client-facing and external stakeholder activities throughout the product or experience lifecycle. Adheres to company-defined risk appetite as part of the first line of defense. Serves as point of review and sign off for risk management, compliance and audit requirements, as needed.
  • Manages, motivates and develops one or multiple product lines and managers as well as the performance evaluation process of the Product Development Management team and key contributors. Identifies talent gaps in team and staffs appropriately.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $80,000.00 – $202,150.00Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
