The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is seeking a human resources coordinator to join our dynamic HR team. This individual will support a wide range of HR functions — from benefits administration to compliance tracking to interview logistics — and will play a critical role in ensuring smooth, accurate and people-focused processes. The HR coordinator will report to the HR manager. This full-time position is based at the Foundation’s headquarters in Flint, Michigan, with some remote work.
Responsibilities
- Maintain employee records and support routine data entry into the HRIS (UKG).
- Assist with the administration of benefits, including open enrollment, retiree healthcare invoicing and responding to employee inquiries.
- Coordinate interview scheduling, onboarding logistics and orientation materials for new hires.
- Track compliance requirements and assist with documentation, reporting and audits.
- Maintain up-to-date HR documents, including policy acknowledgments, benefit summaries and internal intranet content.
- Respond to day-to-day employee questions related to HR policies, processes and systems.
- Support the distribution of internal HR communications and training materials.
- Provide back-up support for payroll.
- Assist with HR events and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two to three years of experience in an HR or administrative support role required.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and/or HRIS (such as UKG) is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- This is a full-time, on-site position located in Flint, Michigan, with occasional remote flexibility.
- Occasional local travel may be required (less than 5%).
