About the Investment Accountant position

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has an immediate opening in its Flint office for an Investment Accountant to join a five-person team responsible for all accounting, payroll, payment processing and financial reporting of this large, international organization.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting, reconciliation and reporting of investment activity and holdings.
• Process corporate credit card transactions, accounts payable for Facilities, maintain fixed asset schedules and track Program Related Investments.
• Assist in the compilation of information for the annual audit(s) and tax return(s).
• Prepare accounting and analytical reports and other tasks as assigned.
• Backup other positions in the Accounting Department as needed.

Qualifications and requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Three to five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The capacity for independent judgment.
• The ability to work effectively with people.
• The position requires an on-site presence in the Flint office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Friday. Employees may flex their hours earlier in the week to work a half day on Friday, and they also have an additional bank of remote-work days each year.
