Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Machine Operator - Shear to work in Fenton, MI on our 1st Shift. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with some overtime on the weekends for production.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Set up, operate, and monitor shear line machinery to cut steel according to production schedules and customer specifications.
  • Interpret production orders accurately.
  • Verify measurements and ensure quality control standards are consistently met.
  • Coordinate workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections of shear line and related fabrication equipment.
  • Conduct basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate repairs when necessary.
What You Get Paid
The position pays a competitive hourly rate. We offer a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, STD, a 401k with immediate match, 10 paid holidays, PTO, and profit-sharing bonus eligibility.
What Requirements Are Needed
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience operating a shear.
  • Strong understanding of shop drawings and production processes.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to safely lift and manage 50+ lbs.
  • Basic computer skills.
