Position Summary
The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all company facilities and equipment across multiple locations. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, optimizes preventive maintenance programs, and manages facility-related projects to support production and business continuity. The Facilities Manager will lead a team of maintenance professionals and contractors, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians and facility staff across multiple sites
  • Set clear goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural integrities).
  • Oversee janitorial, landscaping, and general upkeep.
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules for manufacturing and building equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage service providers for maintenance and repairs.
  • Reassess vendor and service contracts annually to ensure cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Track vendor performance metrics such as response time, quality of work, compliance with SLAs, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, environmental, and local building codes.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce costs, and enhance facility performance.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions for efficiency and sustainability.
  • Develop and manage facility maintenance budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing facilities in manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-site teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, industrial equipment, and building maintenance.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent organizational and vendor management skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred).
Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
  • OSHA Safety Certification
  • EPA Compliance Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) – optional but desirable
