Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our 1st Shift in Fenton, MI. 1st Shift hours are Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some overtime hours on weekends as needed for production. The basic responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to perform and coordinate preventative and reactive building and equipment maintenance.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Install, adjust and repair production equipment (such as leads, grinders and welding machines) and special purpose machines as assigned.
  • Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Schedule and complete preventative maintenance checks.
  • Read and comprehend maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged items.
  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
  • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
  • Complete quarterly machine inspections, while maintaining a schedule for each piece of equipment.
  • Use power lockout procedure as specified.
  • Assure safety standards are used, which comply with all Company guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all vendors, contractors and fellow employees.
  • Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in fair, ethical and consistent manner.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned.

What Requirements Are Needed
High School diploma or equivalent, Technical or Vocational school certification or equivalent in training and 2+ years of related experience.
  • Basic welding skills.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic print reading.
  • Knowledge of industrial machine repair, industrial electrical, welding, plumbing
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity or related field preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Physical & Mental Requirements
The job is performed in a manufacturing setting regularly exposed to the following: noise, fumes, dirt, heat, sparks, smoke, dust, vibration, grease, moving objects/parts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Work may include exposure to hazardous chemicals. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions.
Must have the physical, mental strength, and endurance to perform duties. Physical ability to frequently walk, stand for extended periods of time, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, twist, turn, and lift while performing functions of position. Must be able to reach overhead and climb ladders as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
