Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for our MiFab Division on our 1st Shift. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Uses blueprints and machine building skills to build new industrial equipment.
  • Fabricates new and repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Shows proficiency in reading and interpreting prints and can produce shop sketches for the build or repair task at hand.
  • Determines any necessary changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting new or used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments during a build.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.

What Requirements Are Needed
  • 5-7 years of related experience preferred and a HS/GED required.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Technical process understanding
  • Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of machinist methodologies.
  • Uses machinist/millwright skills to build industrial equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties. Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
