Position Summary:

Responsible to see that nursing care plans are carried out through performance and/or leadership of Radiology department personnel. Assists in the performance of Radiology testing/procedures. The RN is primarily responsible for monitoring the patient during the testing/procedures. Responsible for sedation and independently monitoring patients. Responsible for the care of critical care patients when they are in the department for testing. Provides nursing support services before, during and after Radiology testing/procedures. Participates in the gathering of physiologic and psychosocial data utilizing a varied array of diagnostic equipment and advanced nursing skills. Organizes and reports acquired data to the appropriate member of the medical staff in an effort to facilitate and/or enhance patient care. Interacts with various members of the health care team assigned to the Radiology department.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Adheres to standards of nursing practice of McLaren Flint which consists of systematic approach to nursing practice by using nursing process.
2. Demonstrates competency in skills and knowledge pertinent to practice and education of Registered Nurse.
3. Demonstrates organization ability by using time, equipment, and personnel effectively.

Required:

· Licensed to practice as a RN in the State of Michigan.

· Minimum of two years of experience required in a critical care unit (2C/ICU/CCU/SCU), step down unit, cardiac cath lab, ER, neuro interventional procedures lab.

· Competent in starting & maintaining IV

· 12 months of recent experience (within the last three (3) years) administrating & monitoring moderate sedation of patients.

· Competent to interpret 12 lead EKG

· ACLS within the last 12 months


Preferred:

· Previous experience working in an MRI and Radiology setting.
