Clinical Informatics Specialist

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation, improvement, integration, maintenance, and optimization of Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and other clinical information systems. This role serves as a liaison between IT, clinical staff, and operations, ensuring that system configurations support workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, and data integrity. The specialist will assist with technical support, training, and data analysis while assisting with system upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance improvements. This position plays a role in supporting HCHB users, optimizing workflows, and improving system performance.
Responsibilities:
- System Configuration & Optimization: Configure, test, and maintain HCHB and clinical applications to ensure operational efficiency and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, Meaningful Use).
2. Workflow Analysis & Process Improvement: Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to assess workflows, optimize system use, and support process improvements.
3. Training & Staff Support: Act as a resource for staff, developing training materials and conducting system training sessions. Ensure users are informed on new features (such as Releases), system functionalities, and best practices.
4. Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting: Diagnose system issues, resolve or escalate problems as needed, and coordinate with vendors for technical support. Respond to tickets within the support box.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting: Extract and analyze data from clinical systems to support decision-making, quality improvement, and compliance initiatives. Develop reports and dashboards.
6. Policy Development & Documentation: Assist with creating and maintaining system documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures, and compliance policies.
7. Security & Compliance: Monitor system security, ensure data confidentiality, and manage user access controls. Support regulatory compliance efforts.
8. Integration & Testing: Assist in system integrations, conduct testing of new features, interfaces, and upgrades, and participate in disaster recovery initiatives.
9. Project Management: Assist with IT and operational projects related to HCHB and other clinical applications, ensuring timely implementation and alignment with business needs.
10. Remote Support: Provide on-call support as scheduled to address critical system issues and support remote sites as needed.
11. Coordinates and oversees special projects as identified and assigned.
12. Assists in program development, implementation and evaluation as requested.
13. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, IT, business, or a related field.
- One year of experience in clinical systems, application support, or informatics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical degree (nursing, pharmacy, etc.) or experience in a healthcare IT role preferred.
- Experience with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
