RN Admission Coordinator Location: Flint, MI 48507 Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN Admission Coordinator to join our team at a medical-psychiatric hospital in Flint, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating admissions in a med-psych setting, ensuring smooth and efficient patient intake processes while maintaining high standards of care and compliance. Key Responsibilities - Coordinate and manage the admission process for patients entering the medical-psychiatric hospital.
- Conduct initial assessments and screenings to determine patient eligibility and appropriate level of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate timely admissions.
- Ensure all admission documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referral sources to provide information and support throughout the admission process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital services, policies, and procedures related to admissions.
- Assist in discharge planning and coordinate with case management as needed.
Qualifications - Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Experience working in a medical-psychiatric hospital or similar behavioral health setting.
- Strong knowledge of admission procedures, patient assessment, and care coordination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
