In a learning environment and under close supervision assists various IT teams with first level issue resolution and works in a supporting role on projects in areas including service center, networking, interfaces, server administration, biomedical engineering, database management, data analysis, cyber security, scripting/development, endpoint lifecycle management, and a wide array of applications. Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Complies with all appropriate safety and infection control standards. Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior. Works under the close supervision of IT Director or designee who reviews work to ensure effectiveness.


  • Minimum education required - one or more of the following:
  • High school graduate and/or GED equivalent.
  • Current or previous enrollment in Genesee Career Institute Information Technology program or similar career preparatory academy.
  • Must meet one or more of the following requirements:
  • Graduated or current enrollment in an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree program majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
  • Current industry recognized certification such as Comptia A+, Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft, or similar.
  • -AND-
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current Windows OS and PC troubleshooting procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate in a business appropriate way verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with Medical Center staff, physicians, and the general public.

    1. Work closely with the designated IT team to assist with departmental projects.

    2. Performs PC troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve common problems.

    3. Setup and install PCs and required software.

    4. Provides assistance to IT teams to resolve or assist in the resolution of problems.

    5. Performs other related duties as assigned. Utilizes new improvements and/or technologies that relate to job assignment.
