PACU 2 (PreSurgery) is a perioperative unit responsible for preparing patients for surgery and cardiac catheterization procedures, as well as providing Phase II recovery for post-operative and post-procedure patients. Nurses work collaboratively with anesthesia care providers and physicians to ensure safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical and procedural experience. Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessment and preparation, post-anesthesia recovery, patient monitoring, education, and discharge readiness.
UNIT INFORMATION
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2 to 1:3
- Bed Capacity: 30 bays
- Multiple shifts including:
- 5:30am - 6:00pm
- 7:00am - 7:30pm

REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Or Certified Instructor.
Education: - Requires a graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
