Role Overview
As a Patient Care Unit Coordinator, you play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the patient care unit by managing clerical duties, maintaining patient confidentiality, and coordinating communications. You support patients, families, physicians, and the care team, contributing to a compassionate and efficient healthcare environment.

What You Will Do
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to federal and state laws regarding patient information.
- Coordinate unit communications, including answering phones, handling mail, and managing faxes and pagers.
- Register and admit patients, accurately entering demographic and financial information into hospital systems.
- Verify insurance coverage and process payments for hospital and medical services.
- Assist with the preparation of medical records, birth certificates, and death records as needed.
- Support the patient care team with non-clinical activities and ensure charts are complete and accurate.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, hospital computer systems, and general office equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and math skills.
