Job Description

SHIFT DETAILS: M-F 8AM-5PM

STATUS: Full Time, 40 hours per week

LOCATION: Henry Ford Family Practice - 4075 S Center Rd., Burton, MI 48519

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in providing quality and compassionate care to patients. You will support providers and nursing leadership by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience.

What You Will Do

  • Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
  • Measure and record vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the clinical team and patient care.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), or equivalent experience as outlined in the job description.
  • Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).

OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.

OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting.

OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
