Schedule: Part Time, 16 hours per week, Midnights, 10:00pm-6:30pm

Role Overview

The Ultrasound Technologist, also known as Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, works under general supervision and performs ultrasound diagnostic examinations. Obtains information for procedures such as patient anatomy, pathology and fetal development. Ensures ultrasound examinations are of acceptable quality and records results. Performs other related duties as requested by authorized personnel. Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care to the age group(s) served.

What You Will Do

  • Review patient charts, establish positive patient identification, and gather pertinent information.
  • Produce high-quality images by selecting appropriate technical factors, equipment, and transducer settings.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and understanding.
  • Observe and record images, detect pathologies, and determine associated abnormalities.
  • Assist physicians with invasive procedures, maintaining sterile technique as required.
  • Provide written impressions to radiologists based on ultrasonic image interpretations.

    Qualifications

    Required Credentials:

    • Registered Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. If a non-accredited program was completed, must obtain one (1) year of experience and then complete registration 6 months.
    • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
