Under the direction of the Manager of Customer Services, performs responsible tasks in providing comprehensive services to Genesee Health System (GHS) clients in Customer Services. Receives and responds to requests from GHS clients for information or assistance in individual service needs with direct and community based service providers. Attempts to resolve concerns at the service program level whenever possible. Works collaboratively with the Office of Recipient Rights to collect data and investigate concerns, which are brought to the attention of Recipient Rights; performs related work as required.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, ability to read and write, AND current or previous recipient of verifiable mental health, substance use disorder (must attest to remission or recovery with no abuse for at least one year), or developmental disability services (within the last five (5) years).
Must have achieved Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) status through the Michigan Department of Community Health’s certification program. Will consider a candidate eligible for the CPSS training/examination. A candidate without the CPSS must take and pass the exam within twelve (12) months of hire to retain employment in this position.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, and the use of a vehicle during working hours, OR reliable, available transportation. Ability to physically perform the tasks.

- Position requires the ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
