General Statement:

Under the direction of the Director of MI Adult Services, performs administrative and professional tasks in the supervision and management of the DBT program; maintains model fidelity for DBT; provides clinical supervision, staff development and case consultation for evidenced based practices for adults and children as assigned; performs related work as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s in Social Work with the Michigan Master’s Level Social Worker (LMSW) credential, Clinical AND at least three (3) years of clinical experience in the treatment of adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders; children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities and/ or co-occurring disorders. Willing and able to provide supervision of LLMSWs and LLBSWs.

OR

Master's in Psychology with the Michigan Limited License Psychologist (LLP) credential AND three (3) years clinical experience in the area of mental health services for individuals with serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders; children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities and/ or co-occurring disorders.
OR

Master’s in Counseling AND License Professional Counselor (LPC) credential AND three (3) years clinical experience in the area of mental health services for individuals with serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders; children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities and/ or co-occurring disorders.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidenced based practices;
Must be willing to work flexible hours including occasional weekends and holidays; may share on-call with DBT team.

As THIRD PARTY insurance may be billed by this position in accordance with professional scope of practice, employee must meet and retain 3rd party payer requirements.
Must obtain/ retain DCH qualifications as a Child Mental Health Professional
Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance and own transportation or the use of a vehicle during working hours.
Must have the ability to physically perform the tasks.

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Vision – Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Hearing – Position requires the ability to receive and respond to verbal communication with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Lifting, Standing, and Walking With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:
    • Position requires the ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
    • Position requires the ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
    • Position requires the ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
  • Position will require the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Position must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including the use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, writing, or operating equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.



Preferences:

Intensive DBT training, certified by MDCH; Experience delivering DBT therapy and/or DBT skills training.

Veterans must submit Form DD214 to determine eligibility for Veterans’ Preference

Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm with some evenings and some back up weekend on call coverage.
