Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

General Statement:
Under the direction of the Medical Director and day-to-day supervision of the Behavioral Health Director within established policies and procedures, performs initial psychiatric evaluation, diagnoses, ongoing assessment, and treatment of individuals with mild to moderate and severe and persistent mental illness. Identifies client needs, develops treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management. Collaborates with Family Nurse Practitioners and provides psychiatric support/recommendations for patient care; performs related work as required.Minimum Requirements:

| Master’s degree from an accredited college or university school of nursing | Licensure in the State of Michigan and board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner; Certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the ANCC or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), Michigan Controlled Substance License, and current DEA license. | Three (3) years of clinical experience working with individuals with mild to moderate and severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention. Preference of experience working with children in an outpatient setting. |
Additional Requirements:
Must be willing to work occasional weekends, holidays or irregular hours;
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records;
Valid Michigan Driver’s license and use of a vehicle during working hours;
Must be able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position;
BLS certification.

- Vision – Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.

- Lifting, Standing, and Walking With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:
- Position requires the ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
- Position requires the ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
- Position requires the ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
- Position will require the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
