Job Description
The Role:
As a Business Manager your focus is to lead shift operations by resolving issues, supporting startup, and driving continuous improvement in safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost. You will be responsible for coordinating manpower, managing escalation protocols, meeting production targets, driving GMS, and coaching your team members. This position requires you to have the ability to work any shift and over time.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Conduct shift-to-shift reviews with SLs/GLs; communicate carryover issues and prioritize support
Review/set manpower, manpower transfers, and address absenteeism
Support startup activities and drive execution
Conduct Level 2 BPD reviews and support Level 4 board updates with AM
Manage containment & bypass activities; segregate nonconforming material and complete containment sheets
Monitor CSS Assembly floor for downtime; coach situational awareness & over cycles
Enforce escalation protocols per FEO Escalation Process Sheet
Support downloading/uploading during gaps in breakdowns and recovery
Attend manpower meetings; support transition and training of employees
Lead weekend manpower coordination and execution; ensure NSOT process is followed
Assist in weekend planning with Maintenance and AMs; forecast banks and units
Lead TIP reviews; ensure trackers are updated and teams are prepared for Thursday meetings
Champion safety training and ensure machining training and No Blips are completed
Support Cority report outs and Go & Sees; escalate safety ESCs appropriately
Coach and develop GLs and TLs in GMS, leadership, and operational awareness
Lead GMS Golden Hours weekly; conduct monthly 2-hour coaching sessions with TLs
Ensure Communication Logs and Pink Binder processes are completed and signed
Support EOS, WIP, and OOP counts; coach GLs on proper entry and NSOT sheet execution/escalation
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work any shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
Ability to work overtime as needed
Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-paced production setting
Proficiency in problem-solving and related tools
Excellent communication and coaching skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams under pressure
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or machining operations
Bachelor’s or higher education
Strong understanding of GMS, BPD, and escalation protocols
