Job Description
The Role
The GSC GEPICS Coordinator at Flint Assembly owns day-to-day operation of the Global Enterprise Production Information Control System (GEPICS) to ensure accurate, timely in-process vehicle build data. This role manages vehicle broadcast data to plant-floor systems and VAA/Tier 1 sub-assembly/sequencing locations and supports traceability and test result management.
You will play a key role in launch and production readiness, supporting Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Change Implementation Coordinator (CIC) activities, Part Trial Runs (PTRs) and working cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Materials, Suppliers, VAA, LLP, and offsite storage to maintain disciplined execution and data integrity.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Oversee day-to-day GEPICS operation for Flint Assembly, including broadcast status, vehicle holds, restrictions, output rules, block builds, set-ins/set-outs, MVB “Bucket” builds, and routine system health checks
Ensure accurate vehicle build data flows to plant-floor systems, VAA, Tier 1 suppliers, and sequencing locations, including support for special builds, trials, and containment activity
Provide trace data, end-of-line (EOL) test results, and vehicle history to support root-cause analysis, repairs, and problem resolution for Production, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance teams
Lead execution of ECRs, PTRs, and CIC activities, ensuring changes are correctly reflected in GEPICS and related systems so vehicles are built to the right configuration
Coordinate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Suppliers, VAA, LLP, and offsite storage to resolve material and broadcast issues and communicate changes, updates, restrictions, and trial needs
Generate and share reports on broadcast accuracy, vehicle holds, change activity, and overall process health; analyze trends and recommend system and process improvements
Uphold GM standards for engineering change management, documentation, and build data accuracy, and support audits, readiness reviews, and compliance checks related to GEPICS and change execution
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
3+ years in a Supply Chain/Manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
Knowledge of materials operations, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional relationships
Demonstrated analytical ability to solve moderately complex problems using data and system information
Strong oral and written communication skills; able to explain technical/IT topics in clear business terms
Effective interpersonal skills to work across Production, Materials, Quality, Engineering, and external partners
Solid planning and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
IT fluency with the ability to quickly learn and navigate GM production and data systems
Must be able to work on a rotating/flexible shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd), as well as overtime and weekends, as needed
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Knowledge of MGO-A and GEPICS or similar production information control systems
Experience with engineering change management (ECR, PTR, CIC) in an automotive assembly plant
College degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
Familiarity with GM manufacturing and product development processes, including GMS and GM change control standards
Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and comfort working with data, KPIs, and metrics
Ability to influence without formal authority and drive adherence to process standards and timing
