You will develop and administer facilities service contracts, partner closely with business units and support functions, and ensure reliable, compliant, and cost‑effective delivery of building and infrastructure services. This role also helps lead workspace transformation efforts, finding better, more creative, and more efficient ways to support how teams work and use GM spaces.

What You'll Do: (Responsibilities):

  • Act as the primary interface for all facilities‑related activities for assigned buildings/business units, ensuring timely, high‑quality maintenance and housekeeping services

  • Maintain open communication between tenants and Facility Management/Leadership, coordinating day‑to‑day issue resolution and longer‑term facility needs

  • Drive strategic planning and optimization for building services, including space utilization, energy efficiency, service‑agreement performance, and on‑demand activities, aligned with GMS principles

  • Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, testing, and upgrades for key building systems (e.g., emergency/backup power, UPS, security systems, fire systems, underground utilities)

  • Maintain and update the asset database (ACAP) and other systems of record to support lifecycle planning, reliability, and compliance

  • Develop scope, cost estimates, and timing for facilities projects; use approved GM procurement systems (SAP, PDPM, NPP) to source, schedule, and manage work with internal and contract resources

  • Ensure all projects and service work follow GM safety policies, Safety Contract Management, environmental compliance requirements, and approved purchasing processes, including PO/invoice management and month‑end accruals

  • Partner with the plant environmental team to deliver projects and routine work that keep the plant in environmental compliance (e.g., utilities monitoring, containment integrity, new regulatory requirements)

  • Interface with the UAW, GM Audit Services, and Legal Staff as required, ensuring adherence to labor agreements and audit/compliance expectations

Your Skills & Abilities: (Required Qualifications):

  • 3+ years of experience in Facility/Building Systems, Plant Management, and/or Property Management or a similar domain/industry

  • Proven experience managing safety-related service contracts, including developing scope of work, overseeing vendor performance, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, and driving corrective actions to mitigate risk in a facilities environment

  • Working knowledge of business application software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Corrigo, Maximo, Power BI) and related electronic tools

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization (from shop floor and production supervision to plant staff and leadership)

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and off‑hours as needed to support operations

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Facilities Maintenance/Management, or equivalent training/experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Facility/Building Systems, Plant Management, and/or Property Management or a similar domain/industry

  • Demonstrated customer‑focused mindset and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and prioritize in a high‑demand environment

  • Experience developing and leading effective teams.

  • Demonstrated timely and effective problem‑solving skills

  • Proven track record of successful project execution (scope, cost, timing, and quality)
