GENERAL FUNCTION:

Leads and directs Auto Lending, portfolio management; credit quality, growth and profitability for the Auto Line of Business across all states and geographic regions. Also accountable for Auto Lending Processing activities (Dealer Service, Customer Service, Data Entry, Pre-Book Audit, Funding, Adjustment, Booking and Dealer Control) . Drives all credit functions (Underwriting, Exception Review, Reporting, Counter Offers, Final Credit Decisions) within the Auto business. Manages relationships between the Regional Credit Centers and dealer customers in and out of footprint. Participates in the development and recommendation of Auto Lending objectives, credit policy and practices. Provides over limit authority in approving large credit requests.

While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the design, development, implementation and monitoring of lending functions (Underwriting, Exception Review, Reporting, Counter Offers, Final Credit Decisions) for the Regional Credit Center.
  • Proactively manages Auto Lending credit quality and service quality to achieve service level standards for the Regional Credit Center.
  • Partners with the Auto Sales areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and/or control.
  • Ensures all processing standards and service level agreements are consistently met.
  • Develops cooperative relationships with internal and external customers (Alternative Lenders, , Risk Management, Product Development and Sales) to achieve business objectives across multiple states and geographic regions.
  • Leads both Auto fulfillment centers, including remote employees attached to both centers to identify and implement best practices as standards across the Regional Credit Centers.
  • Identifies opportunities and implements improvements to increase productivity and improve efficiencies for Indirect Lending.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Dealerships through regular on site visits in and out of footprint.
  • Consumer Lending credit authority is commensurate with consumer lending authority guidelines and business need.
  • Ensures controls are adequately in place and documented for all functions for which he/she is responsible
  • Supports Bancorp Consumer Lending initiatives and projects as requested.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing, organizational structures, processes and procedures are in place to meet the strategic growth of the Auto business.
  • Manages employee turnover to bank goals.
  • Responsible for execution of dealer control policy, including but not limited to dealer sign up and dealer deactivation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time.
  • Independent and highly self motivated.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
